Satomi Bando is a poet specializing in the creation of poetry and visual poetry, as well as the study of avant-garde poetry, including the works of Junzaburo Nishiwaki, Katsue Kitazono, Yasuo Fujitomi, and Chika Sagawa. She completed her doctoral studies in the Graduate School of Japanese Literature at Kwansei Gakuin University. Bando is a member of the Japan Poets Association and the Association for Modern Japanese Literary Studies. Her poetry collections include Half of the Promise(Azami Shobo), Typhoon (Azami Shobo), The Music of Metamorphosis (Azami Shobo), and Thinking Legs (Miotuskushi).
